‘EP Awareness’ is a two day course designed to give non-technical senior staff an overview of the Oil and Gas Industry. The course covers the E&P life cycle from exploration, via appraisal and field development to finally field abandonment. Both conventional and unconventional oil and gas are covered. ‘Geological core description’ is a course designed to provide E&P technical staff who will be tasked with carrying out reservoir studies with a sound understanding of the ‘what, how and why’ of a geological core evaluation. Please see the course outline for additional information.

This two days course is intended for petroleum engineers, fluids analysts and chemists that are using reservoir fluids data. The course will cover typical PVT analysis performed on black oil and gas condensate wells. Upon the completion of the course, the participants will have a better understanding of PVT analysis and the usefulness of the fluids data in improving the overall efficiency of the oil and gas production. This training course is designed for geologists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers and core analysts to obtain a good understanding of the most sophisticated technology in the industry. After the completion of this training, participants will gain the skills to confidently design NMR lab experiments, operate lab NMR tests, data processing, results interpretation as well as integrate NMR results with other data such as other SCAL data, NMR log, geological and reservoir engineering data.

This course provides deep insight into thermal recovery methods working from the basic physical principles into a discussion of the various engineering implementations in the field, process testing by laboratory experiments on drive mechanisms, SCAL and PVT for thermal processes, surveillance in the field. Analytical formulations will be presented for a first-pass design of thermal EOR projects. Numerical modelling issues specific to thermal EOR will be discussed in detail. The interactive EOR course is a 2 day course that takes the participants through the screening, justification, development and design of an EOR project. At the end of this course, attendees will be able to plan and rudimentary execute an EOR development project.

This interactive EOR course aims to strengthen the participant’s EOR theoretical knowledge and provide hands on training. The participants will address EOR project management & economics, screening, development planning, laboratory work, facilities design and operations. Also attention will be given to EOR risk & stakeholders’ management and team integration. This course explains the various measurement techniques, their advantages and disadvantages, and detailed data interpretation. This course is unique in its kind: it has a strong emphasis on state‐of‐the‐art data interpretation with the aid of a license‐free simulator 'Dumux' and has an abundance of practical exercises. No simulation experience is required for an effective use of Dumux. At the end of the course, the participant should be able to design a SCAL measurement program, and subsequently check and re‐interpret Pc and Krel data without too many problems.
