PanTerra samples (geothermal) water onsite using bottles with the appropriate preservatives to ensure that any subsequent analyses provide representative results. Chemical and physical properties include but are not limited to Anions, Cations, pH, T, Alkalinity, Oxygen, TSS, TDS, VFA, H2S, Isotope. Water analyses are performed in a dedicated water laboratory.

Scaling potential under process conditions is evaluated by our Specialist Production Chemist. In our PVT laboratory we measure gas/water ratio and gas composition. Together with the water composition, this is input to assess scaling risk. Associated laboratory tests such as static bottle and dynamic flow loop tests are performed in the dedicated lab where also scale inhibitor (MIC) can be evaluated.

PanTerra PVT engineers take (geothermal) water samples at process condition on site from separators or facility pipelines. Down hole samples obtained during well testing can be transferred into piston cylinders prepared to keep any gas in solution (single phase sampling). Properties such as gas/water ratio, bubble point, gas and water compositions are subsequently measured in PanTerra PVT laboratory.
