Formation damage is a term referring to any impairment of the permeability of oil and gas wells, which could be caused by various adverse processes.Formation damage begins immediately when the drill bit penetrates the formation and can continue during the productive life of the well. All formation damage occasions can be grouped into the following categories:

 Formation damage during completion/work over
