Determination of the mineralogy of rock samples using X-ray diffraction (XRD) provides reliable information supporting studies of reservoir characterization and the interpretation of petrophysical properties. PanTerra has recently invested in a state-of-the-art automated CubixPro X-ray diffractometer (including a fast X’Celerator detector and a 64-position automatic sampler changer) from PANalytical, a world leader in X-ray analysis systems. The new XRD equipment, uses a robot arm for front sample loading, allowing fully automatic, round-the-clock operation.
