Senior Production Chemist with 40 years of international experience in the oil industry with focus on handling and treatment of produced and injected fluids. Has been assigned to Shell Operating Units in Oman, Netherlands, Qatar, United Kingdom, Nigeria and Syria, and has been involved in many projects and studies all over the globe (USA, Mexico, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Far East, Australia). During his latest spell in SIEP Rijswijk he focused on Injection Water issues through membership of the Water to Value Team, also being tasked with the development of the Reservoir Souring Guidance Tool. Became one of Shell’s global experts on reservoir souring and its mitigation, and is still active in this regard as principal consultant. Responsible for planning, conducting and interpreting of on-site coreflood experiments, geared to establishing quality specs for injected fluids by empirical means. Developed training modules on produced fluids and water treatment for Shell Learning, and gave training sessions on crude oil dehydration problems for Pemex (Mexico).
